![]() So the question here is, as it's been years since i flashed bios on my old system and moving on to this "new" system, I'm a little unsure about the Bios versions and how to proceed ? So I'm pretty sure this is Bios related, as the bios version is pretty old, Ver 1.6. ![]() So reinstalled them onto the Z97 gaming 7 board, only to see the boot loop appear again :-/ So I decided to test the 4x8 gb 1866mhz sticks on my old system, and they work as they have been all along, they can be clocked and messed around with as they have been all along. So just to see if it where ram sticks, I installed my old 2x4 gb 2133mhz sticks, and the system started with no issues !?! I tried to use only one memory stick, no luck, 2 memory sticks, no luck and the reboot loop persisted. instant reboot loop, and not a thing to do about it, so failure seeking began. ![]() Then i bought this Z97 gaming 7, and my son is on my old setup and happy gaming like his old manĪfter installing everything, cables, hardrives, gpu's and the 32gb ram sticks, it was time to fire up the system. The 32gb's have run like a dream giving some air on the work load on my old setup. Thing is, on my old board i switched from 8 gb Corsair Vengeance 2133mhz ram, to 32gb Corsair Vengeance 1866mhz ram, the more ram the better ![]() I just went from an I7 920 3.8 ghz spinng on a Gigabyte Udr3 EX58 1366 motherboard (yes it's 10 years old but still running like a dream) to this MSI z97 Gaming 7 Motherboard together with an Intel 4690k, purchased used and never overclocked, and obviously never Bios flashed. ![]()
